It’s no secret that bottled water creates too much unnecessary waste, and it’s up to you to choose recycling plastic bottles instead. Marketing efforts to get people to pay for bottled water (that sometimes is just tap water!) worked, as within a decade, consumption of bottled water in the U.S. more than doubled, from 13.4 gallons per person to 29.3 gallons per person.
