Don’t Throw Out That Box!
Ever buy the toddler in your life a toy, only to have them play with the box instead? Stickers from Box Play for Kids are printed on 100% recycled uncoated paper and allow your child to transform common items such as milk cartons, paper towel rolls, and mac ‘n’ cheese boxes into interactive toys. Janette Eusebio Harwell and her husband Greg, co-founders of Box Play for Kids, have developed wonderfully simple idea that stimulates curiosity, enthusiasm and learning. Their daughter, like many kids, is fascinated by many things – but stickers and old boxes top the list. Fortunately, her parents are both designers who have specialized in package design, branding and advertising for over 20 years.
“This product line was inspired completely by our then 2 1/2 year old daughter. I love recycling or rather ‘upcycling’ with my daughter because it really stimulates her creativity and imagination and I feel good when she’s interacting with toys that don’t require a monitor or batteries. I also think the dramatic, creative play has helped a lot with her language skills,” says Harwell.
Proudly made in the USA, the uncoated stock paper used allows little ones to draw on the stickers giving them the ability to add their own personal flair. Recycling crafts for kids- Start ‘em young!
Turn Old Boxes Into New Toys
The Puppy Dog above is a single panel sticker that fits around most standard paper towel rolls, and it is awesome. As seen below, an old mac ‘n’ cheese box never looked so good!
